RESOLUTION NO. 2002-18
RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS-
SION, RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL AND KENAI PENINSULA
BOROUGH APPROVAL OF THE SEWARD ORIGINAL TOWNSITE,
COMMUNITY CENTER REPLAT
WHEREAS, the administration hired Cline and Associates Land Surveyors to prepare a
replat of city-owned property described as the North 20 feet of Lot 36,37,38,39, and 40, Block 15,
Original Townsite of Seward, into a single parcel; and
WHEREAS, the existing building located on this property houses the Senior Center, Museum
and Teen and Youth Center; and
WHEREAS, the property is zoned Central Business District which allows all of the existing
uses of the property, and the subdivision meets the minimum lot size and width requirements of the
Seward Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, the property is served by existing public utilities and development streets, and
therefore meets all of the requirements of the Seward Subdivision Code; and
WHEREAS, the Subdivision Code 16.01.015 (B) stipulates that no preliminary plat of city-
owned property may be submitted to the Kenai Peninsula Borough planning commission for approval
without prior consent of the city council; and
WHEREAS, this subdivision is consistent with the Municipal LandsM~f.l8e.llleQtp'lan which
recommends replatting the property into a single parce1.,,''','' ." "', :""

Section 1. The Commission hereby recommends that, in accordance with Seward City code
SectlJn 16.01.015 (B), the City Council consent to the submittal of the Seward drigirial1:oWnsite,
Community Center Replat to the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
Section 2. The Commission further recommends Kenai Peninsula Borough approval of the
Seward Original Townsite, Community Center Replat.
