CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 485
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE ASSESSMENT
OF PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD,
CREATING ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 19A, SEC. 19A-39 OF THE SEWARD CITY CODE
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. Article III, Section 19A-39 of Chapter 19A of the Seward
City Code is hereby created to read as follows:
Article III.
Assessment of Personal Property
Sec. 19A-39.
Method; Special valuation of boats.
All taxable property must be assessed at its true
and full value, and all assessments shall be uniform and equal
and based upon the actual value of the property assessed; except,
that in levying, assessing and collecting general taxes for muni-
cipal purposes, the Council shall classify boats and vessels and
assess their valuation on the basis of the registeredor certified
net tonnage, and levy a uniform and equal tax of $5.00 a year for
boats or vessels of less than five net tons, and a like tax of $15.00
a year for boats or vessels of more than five tons, pursuant
to Sec. 29.53.025 of the Alaska Statutes.
Section 2. This ordinance takes effect 30 days following enactment.
