AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, ESTABLISHING THE HISTORIC
DISTRICT IN DOWNTOWN SEWARD
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. Chapter 6 of the Seward City Code is amended by
adding the following section:
Sec. 06.10.100 Historic District Established
(a) The Historic District of the City of Seward is
hereby established to define those areas of the City
that meet state or federal standards for historic
districts or that otherwise have special historic
significance that merit additional consideration in
land use regulation.
(b) The Historic District for the City of Seward
shall be defined as that area in downtown Seward
bordered on the South by Resurrection Bay, on the
North by Adams Street, on the East by Sixth Avenue
and on the West by Third Avenue, and including the
Ferry Terminal.
(c) Criteria for selection and placement on the
list of historic districts within the City of Seward
shall be set by Resolution of Council.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect 10 days following
enactment.

this 13th day of February , 1984.
