ORDINANCE NO. 607
Unless another penalty is expressly provided
by this code for any particular provision or
section, the penalty provided herein shall apply.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10)
days following passage and posting as required by law.

CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 607
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SECTION 14-159 OF THE
SEWARD CITY CODE RELATING TO CONVICTIONS AND THEIR
PENALTIES AND ADOPTING THE STATE TRAFFIC BAIL
FORFEITURE SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the city of Seward wishes to adopt a Uniform
Bail Schedule for traffic offenses; and
WHEREAS, for purposes of public efficiency and conve-
nience, the city of Seward wishes to provide for the forfei-
ture of bail for minor traffic offenses;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 14-159 of the Seward City Code is
hereby amended by adding a new subsection (c) to read as
follows:
Sec. 14-159. Penalties. (c) The city of
Seward adopts the Traffic Bail Forfeiture Schedule
as it exists in Alaska Administrative Rule 43.1.
Certain vehicle and traffic offenses are amenable
to disposition without court appearance upon
payment and forfeiture of the bail amount listed
in the Alaska Traffic Bail Forfeiture Schedule.
A person cited for a traffic violation for
which a scheduled amount of bailor a fine has
been established may mail or personally deliver to
the clerk of the court, if a bailable offense, the
amount of the bailor fine indicated on the cita-
tion for the violation together with a copy of the
citation signed by the person indicating the
person's waiver of court appearance, entry of a
plea of no contest and forfeiture of bailor fine.
A motor vehicle or traffic citation may be mailed
or personally delivered within five days of the
date of the citation.
When bailor a fine is forfeited under this
section, a judgment of conviction shall be en-
tered. The bailor fine paid is complete satis-
faction for the violation.
