ORDINANCE NO. 92-25
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SCC § 3.50.010
RECOGNIZED CITY HOLIDAYS
WHEREAS, on October 10, 1988, the City Council enacted Ordinance No. 609,
which provided for different holidays with pay for library employees; and
WHEREAS, there has been confusion in the past that the library is open and
closed at different times than the city offices during the Thanksgiving and Christmas
holidays; and
WHEREAS, there is a greater demand for the library to remain open during the
same time as the city offices; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the library employees to observe the same holidays
as the rest of the city employees;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 3.50.010 is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.50.010 Recognized city holidays. The following holidays shall
be recognized as holidays with pay for all employees in regular full-time,
permanent part-time and trainee positions who are in pay status the day
before and the day after the recognized holidays:
New Years Day; Washington's Birthday; Seward's Day;
Memorial Day, Independence Day; Labor Day; Alaska Day;
Veteran's Day; Thanksgiving Day and the day immediately
following Thanksgiving Day; one-half working day immedi-
ately preceding Christmas Day and Christmas Day.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
14th day of December, 1992.
