CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 94-27
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE SEWARD ZONING MAPS BY REZONING ALL
R2 AND R3 ZONING DISTRICTS WITHIN URBAN RESIDENTIAL LAND
USE PLAN AREAS (SOUTH OF THE BOAT HARBOR) TO "UR"
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 665 amended the Land Use Plan of the city to create a new
Urban Residential Land Use and Zoning District designation to allow for an area of higher
density mixed residential and professional home office uses in the area surrounding the
downtown area; and
WHEREAS, zoning is a tool to implement the land use plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning amendments generally reflect community development
direction, bring zoning into confonnance with the Land Use Plan and provide for additional
flexibility in land uses;
NOW, TIlEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. The official city zoning map is amended to change all R2 and R3 zones
within Urban Residential Land Use areas to UR as shown in the table attached and incorporated
herein by reference.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
27th day of June, 1994.
