ORDNINANCE NO. 401
A SPECIAL ORDINANCE OF THE CI'IY COUNCIL OF
THE CI'IY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING FOR THE AMENrnENT
OF CHAPTER 21, TRAILERS AND TRAILER COURTS.
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest of the City
of Seward to consummate approval of a trailer court license
for Last Frontier, Inc., and
WHEREAS, an emergency situation exists in that
Last Frontier, Inc., requires immediate approval of this
license to begin construction of improvements in the
Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision.
THEREFORE, THE CI'IY OF SEWARD ORDAINS:
Section 1. That an emergency in fact exists in
accord with Section 4.l(b) of the City Charter and Section
2-80(b)(3) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Seward.
Section 2. Section 2l-2(a) is repealed and rein-
serted to read: (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to
maintain or operate any trailer court within the city un-
less such person shall have first obtained a license there-
for. All requirements of this chapter, as well as any other
requirements which may be set by the city in each individual
case, shall be met prior to the issuance"of a license for a
new trailer court.
Section 3. Section 21-9 is repealed and rein-
serted to read: Section 21-9, Locations and Conditions. New
trailer courts may be located only in the R-3, C-N and
C-L districts, and then only by special permission granted
by the City Council after a public hearing. Each boundary
of the court must be at least seventy-five feet from any
permanent residential building located outside the court,
unless separated therefrom by a barrier such as a right-of-
way, or a fence or wall at least thirty-six inches in height.
The City Council may attach any other conditions to the issu-
ance or a renewal of a trailer court license as it deems to
be in the public interest.
Section 4. This ordinance takes effect immediately
upon passage and approval.
