M~ ORDINANCE DETERMINING THE LOCATION FOR
FUTURE CONSTRUCTION OF BULK PETROLEUM OR GAS STORAGE
TANKS WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, above ground bulk storage tanks for petroleum
products presently exist in the industrial zoned area located
north of the Seward Small Boat Harbor, and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to restrict the
location of these bulk storage tanks to certain areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 11-41 of The Seward Code of Ordin-
ances is hereby created to read as follows:

Sec. 11-41 Petroleum and Gas Storage Tanks.
The constructio~ enlargement, or relocation of above-
ground storage tanks for bulk petroleum or gas is prohibited
in the City of Seward, except in the industrial zoned areas
located either north of the Seward Small Boat Harbor or south
of the Lowell Creek diversion outfall, and there only with
special permission of the City Council.
Section 2. This ordinance takes effect immediately
upon passage and approval.
