CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 322
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND RE-ENACTING SECTIONS 8.100 and 8.101,
AND REPEALING SECTIONS 8. 102 TO 8.177 INCLUSIVE OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SEWARD RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF
TRAFFIC WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD.
THE CITY OF SEWARD. ALASKA. ORDAINS:
That Sections 8.100 and 8.101 of the Seward General Code
be and the same hereby are repealed and re-enacted, and Sections
8.102 to and including 8.177 be and the same hereby are repealed.
Sections 8.100 and 8.101 are re-enacted as follows:
Section 8.100 TRAFFIC CODE
The Alaska Laws and Traffic Regulations Relating to Motor
Vehicles and Their Operation on the Streets and Highways, as
latest adopted and amended by the State of Alaska, is hereby
designated and shall henceforth be known as the Traffic Code
for the City of Seward relating to traffic regulation. Al-
though not published in full in this ordinance, all of the
provisions of said Alaska Laws and Traffic Regulations Re-
lating to Motor Vehicles and Their Operation on the Streets
and Highways shall be and are hereby adopted by reference to
the same extent as if set forth in full herein; however, to
the extent that same are in conflict with this ordinance or
any relevant ordinance later adopted, the provisions of the
ordinance shall prevail.
The City Clerk is directed to keep on file at least three
copies of the said Laws and Regulations in its latest edition
together with any and all amendments thereto, for public use,
inspection and examination.
Section 8.101 PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpora-
tion to operate, control or use any vehicle in the City, or
cause or permit the same to be done, contrary to or in vio-
lation of any of the provisions of the foresaid Traffic Code
for the City of Seward, as adopted by Section 8.100 of the
Seward General Code of Ordinances.
(b) Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of the said Traffic Code shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and further shall be deemed guilty of a separate
offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which
any such violation continued or permitted, and upon conviction
of any such offense, such person, firm or corporation shall
be punished by a fine not to exceed Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00), or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty
(30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Publication of this Ordinance shall be made by posting a
copy hereof on the City Hall Bulletin Board for a period of
ten (10) days next following its passage and approval.

Second reading: 20 May 1963
Passed and approved by the City Council of the City of
Seward, Alaska, on the 3rd day of June, 1963.
