AN ORDINANCE REPEALING S-ECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. lq4,
AND A}IENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1.35, REVISING THE
RATE SCHEDULE OF THE SEWARD ELECTRIC SYS'rEM:

WHEREAS, it has been determined that a revision of the rate
sChedule of the Seward Electric System is desirable and
necessary, and

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the 23rd day of April,
1956, pursuant to a Notice of Hearing duly made according to
law, concerning said revision of the rate structure, and it
appearing that such revision should be made,
NOW THKlEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the CmlMON COUNCIL of the
CITY OF SEllAiID, ALASKA,
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 164, is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 135 is hereby amended to read
as follows:
The service rates and charges to be made and collected
for services of the Municipal Electric System and the classifications
thereof are as follows:
Schedule IIAII Domestic
i3.ao for first 30 KWH or less per month
9~ per KWH for next 70 KWH
5~ per ~dH for next 200 KWH
4.p per KWH for next 200 KWH
2~ per KWH for all aver 500 KWH
Definition: One family dwelling used as a residence only.
Single phase service for lighting, cooking and single phase
motors incidental to domestic appliances. Demand load not to
exceed five horsepower.
Schedule "AA" Domestic All Electric
~9.00 for first 100 KWH
3~ per ~WH for next 500 KWH
2i per KWH for allover 600 KliH
Definition: For residences using electricity for all cooking
and hot water heater and having 3 wire serfice and approved
30 gallon or larger automatic water heater on off peak time
switch which cuts out between 4pm and 7pm or such other period
as the Board may set but not to exceed 4 hrs. per day. other
conditions same as SChedule All . All residences utilizing the
Water Heater Rate at the time this SChedule goes into effect are
eligible for service under Schedule IIMII. Also available for
approved automatic off peak hot water heaters in commercial
establishments.
Schedule liB" Commercial
$4.00 for first 40 KWH or less per month
10tp per KWH for next 60 Kwri
8~ per KWH for next 300 KWH
6~ per KWH for next 500 KWH
5i per KWH for allover 900 KWB
Definition: Lighting, cooking, appliances and motors in pro-
fessional, mercantile, industrial and other establishements
not classed in SChedule "A" or "A.A.".

Schedule "C" - Power and Government
$10 for first 200 or less per month
5~ per KWH for allover 200 KWH
Minimum charge not less than $1 per horsepower connected load.
Definition: Minimum demand of 5 horsepower. Minimum non-inducti
load 10 IrW1f.
Service Outside City Limits
City rates plus 10% sur-charge
