An Ordinance appointing a School Tax Collector for the Town
of Seward, Alaska for the year 1924.
Be It Ordained by the Common Council of the Town of Seward

SECTION 1. That in accordance with the provisions of the
School Tax Act, Chapter 29, 8ession .Laws 0-:"
Alaska, 1919, entitled: "An Act to I!!lpose a
Tax upon Male Persons in the Territory of Alaska
for School Purposes, Providing ~eans for its Col-
lection and declaring an ~mergency and Amendments
thereto wherein it provided for appointment of a
Sohool Tax Collector by the Com~on Council of each
inco~orated Town in the Territory of Alaska.

~e r and a citizen of the United states is here-
by appointed and declared to be School Tax Colleotor
for the ~G.n of Seward, Alaska, and upJn the quali-
fication of said person, in accordance with law, all
provisions, conditions and requirements of said Act
shall be carried out and enforced as by law re-
quired and regulated.

SECTION 2. An emergency is herer)'! declared and this Ordinance
shall take effect from and after its passage and
approval.

of April, 1924.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION, 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 84 OF TEE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASU, ENTITLED WAN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TEE USE OF THE
PUBLIC HIGHWAYS AND REGULATIONS OF VEHICLE TRAFFIC IN THE T01m OF
SEWARD, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES. It
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COllMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA,
That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 84 of the City of Seward,
Alaska, be amended to read as follows:

'Section 4.
The fee for an operator's license as above
provided shall be $2.50.
All licenses shall be dated upon the
date of the application therefor and shall expire June 30th of each
year and.shall be renewed annually in the same manner as provided for
original registrations, such renewals to take effect on the first
day o~ July of eaoh year; it is provided, however, that for any
re~i.trat ion made after January '* of any year but one-half of
said fe~ shall be paid, and for any registration made on or after
_r11 1st of 'fY year but one-fourth of said fee shall be paid,
PROVIDED, That operators of motor vehicles owned by the City
of Seward, the Territory of Alaska, and the United States, shall
not be required to pay the lioense fees herein provided, however,
they shall make applioation for a license and shall at all times
be subjeot to all the other provisions of this Ordinanoe. Suoh
licenses shall be valid only while suoh operator or operators are
operating or driving said motor vehioles exclusively on official
Dusiness.
PROVIDED, also, that the Munioipal Clerk shall be authorized to
issue a temporary license for a period not to exceed 30 days to
persons over the age of 16 years who are non-residents of the City
of Seward but who desire to drive a motor vehicle during their visit
in the City.
SUoh lioensess shall be in form s1mil&r to the regular
driver's license but the Clerk shall endorse aoross the face of su..
license the word .VISITOR-. No fee shall be oharged for such license.
