AN EHERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAIN2D BY THI: CO),H1JN COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA.
Section 1. That for the period beginning with the date this ordinance takes
effect and ending April 10th, 1928 or until the successors of the officers
appointed for said term are appointed and qualified, the compensation to be
paid the mun:cipal officers of the City of Seward Alaska, is hereby fixed
and establish8d by the terms and conditions hereinafter contained in this
ord:irance which compensation shall be neither increased nor diminished during
said term nor shall said officers be entitled to receive in any form or shape
any other additional compensation from the said City.
Section 2. The }~nicipal Clerk shall receive a monthly salary at the rate
of $150.00 per month or 31800.00 per annum.
Section 3. The Municipal Magistrate shall receive a monthly salary at the
rate of $25.00 per month or $300 per annum.
Section 4. The Municipal Assessor shall receive a monthly salary at the rate
of $25.00 per month or $300 per annum.
Section 5. The Municipal Attorney shall receive a monthly salary at the rate
of $50.00 per month or $600.00 per annum.
Section 6. The Municipal Health Officer shall receive a monthly salary at the
rate of $50.00 per month or $600.00 pe r annum.
Section 7. The Municipal Treasurer shall receive a yearly salary at the rate
of $1.00 per annum.
Section 8. The Chief of the Fire Department shall receive a monthly salary at
the rate of $100.00 per month or $1200.00 per annum.
Section 9. The Chief of the Fire Department shall receive a monthly salary
at the rate of $100.00 per month or $1200.00 per annum. (Does this mean
Chief of the Police Department?)
Section 10. Each of the salaries herein provided for shall be paid out of the
general fund of the City of Seward and shall be paid monthly.
The Council shall at its first meeting in each month approve and order paid
the salaries of all the abov" named officers for the preceeding month and
proper warrant shall be drawn on the Trpasurer for the payment of the same.
Section 11. An Emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
tdkp effect iITIIYLediately upon its passage and approval.
Passed by the Cowrron Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 19th day of
April, 1927.
