AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE OF OJl'J'ENEATION TO B= FlUD BY nL CIlY OF SE'v'J'ARD
ALASKA TO OFFICERS APPOINTED BY T~E COM}DN COUNCILCF SAID CIlY FOR TBE TERM
ENDING APRIL lL'TH, 1928, OR UNTIL TIiEIR SUCCESSORS ARE APPOINTED AND QAULIFIED,
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, Jl.ND DECLARING AN EJlJERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE C"':JI'l}DN COlJ~ICIL OF TEE CIlY OF SE',{ARD, ALAE'KA:
Section 1. That for the period bf'ginning with the date this ordinance takes
effect and ending April 10th, 1928 or until the successors of the officers
appointed for said terms are appointed and qualified, the compensation to be
paid by tre Municipal Officers of the City of Seward, Alaska, is hereby fixed
and established by the terms and conditions hereinaft~r contained in this
Ordinance with compensation shall be neither increased nor diminished during
said term nor shall said officers be entitled to receive in any form or shape
any other or additional compensation from the said City.
Section 2. The Municipal Clerk shall receive a monthly salary a1 the rate
of $150.LO per month or ;;1800.00 per annum.
Section 3. The Municipal Magistrate shall receive a monthly salary at the rate
of $25.00 per month or $300.00 per annum.
Section 4. The Municipal Assessor shall receive a monthly salary at the rate
of $25.00 per month or $300.00 per annum.
Section 5. The Municipal Attorney shall receive a monthly salary at the rate
of $50.00 per month or $600.00 per annum.
Section 6. The Municipal Health Officer shall receive a monthly salary at the
rate of $50.00 per month or $600.00 per annum.
Section 7. The Municipal Treasurer shall receive a yearly salary at the rate
of $1. 00 per annum.
Section 8. The Chief of the Fire Department shall receive a monthly salary at
the rate of $100 per month or $12.00. per annum.
Section 9. The Chief of Police shall receive a monthly salary at the rate of
$100.00 per month or $12.0C per annum.
Section 10. Each of the salaries herein provided for shall be paid out of the
general fund of the City of Seward and shall be paid monthly.
The Common Council shall at its first meeting in each approve and order paid the s
salaries of all the above named officers for the preceeding month and proper
warrant shall be drawn on the Treasurer for the payment of same.
Section 11. All Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 12. An Emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall
take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
