AN ORDIK;\NCE Granting to the ST1\ND1\,-,-'!:m OIL Cml;PANY OF CAL-
IFOm~IA, a Delaware Corporation, Permission and Authority to lo-
cate, Erect, Maintain and Operate Warehouse or ,iarehouses ,Storage
Tanks and other Necessary Buildings and Appurtenances,together
with All Necessary Pipe Lines and Conduits on that Certain Tract
of Land as described in This Ordinance,situate in the To\vn of
Seward,Territory of Alaska; to Install, Use,Operate and Maintain
Pipe Lines and Conduits Leading tm and from said Described Tract
of Land, Across and Under the streets of said Municipality adja-
cent thereto, and Granting Right-of-'ilay and License Therefor.
ORDInANCE No.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the Town of Seward,
Alaska:
Section 1.-- That the Standard Oil Company of ,California, a
Delaviare corporation, organized and existing under die laws of
the State of Delaware, and licensed to do business in the Terri-
tory of Alaska, be and it is hereby granted permission and author
ity to locate, erect, maintain and operate a warehouse or ware-
houses, storage tanks and all other necessary buildings and appur
tenances, together with pipe lines and conduits on and over that
certain tract of land in the Town of Seward, Territory of Alaska,
or upon any portion of said tract of land described as follows:
Lots 37,38,39 and 40 and Fractional Lots 1,2,3
and 4, with the vacated alley lying between said
described lots, all in Block Six of the Townsite
of Seward,Alaska,according to the ~ap and plat
thereof duly of record and on file in the office
of the United States Commissioner and ex-officio
Recorder for Seward Precinct, Territory of Alaska,
for the storage and distribution of petroleum and its products
and all other kinds of merchandise produced by said Company;
Section 2.-- That the said proposed structures and improve-
ments shall be erected and maintained with all proper safeguards
and in conformity to the practices followed by said Company at
its various stations, and said improvements shall be maintained
and conducted under the ordinances now existing;
Section 3.-- That a right-of-way and license and authority
be and is hereby granted to said Corporation, to install and
place all necessary pipe lines and conduits leading to and from
the tract of land described herein, described in Section l, of
this Ordinance, across, through and under a portion of Railroad
Avenue, so-called, in said Seward, lying to the eastward and
southward of said tract of land.
Section 4.-- Nothing contained in this Ordinance shall be
construed to be in conflict vath, but shall be and is in
addition to the authority, licenses and privileges heretofore
granted by the said Town of Seward ,Alaska , to the said Standard
Oil Company of California, a Delaware corporation, by the prov-

isions of Ordinance No. 77 of said TO\Vll passed and approved
on the 4th day of June,192) and still in full force and effect;
Section 5.-- That this Ordinance shall take effect upon
its passage and approval.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the Town of Seward ,Alaska ,
under suspension of the rules, and lu'PIWVED this 21 day of
July, 1941.
