by the Common Council of the Town
Section 1. That the business and affairs of
I
lithe Town of Seward, 1-~laska have grown and increased to
I
I such an extent, that its present Town Hall Building is
i;
Ii inadequate, and there is a compelling necessity for a

Ii larger and more convenient public building to serve as

II a city hall and for other muni cipal purposes.
Section 2. That while it is for the advantage
and best interests of the people of the Town of Seward,

II Alaska that a hrger building be acquired for publicI! i
and municipal uses and purposes, it is important that '~
the greatest economy be exercised in the acquisitionIi
of such new property.
Section 3. That an opportunity has presented
1: itself to the City of Seward, to acquire by purchase

Section 4. That the City of Seward

said U. S. O. buildings and property for said sum of
i $13,203.59, by paying twenty per cent. of said purchasd
price within ninety days hereof, and by paying the bal~

year from the date of the initial payment.
Section 5. That the City of Seward sell its
present City Hall property and Building, situate on
I Lots .21 and 22, in Block 16 of the original Seward
Townsite, and apply the proceeds of such sale toward
the purchase of said U. S. O. buildings and property.
Section 6. That an invitation for bids be
duly advertised for a period of not less than thirty
I (30) days offering the present city hall building and
said lots 21 and 22, Block 16, for sale to the highest
bidder, subject, hO'Never, to the ratification of this
ordinance, for the sRIe of said property, by a majorit1
