RESOLUTION NO. 86-40
A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, WAIVING REPAYMENT OF A $4,000 WAN BY
THE SEWARD LITI'LE LEAGUE ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, on June 25, 1984, the City Council approved an
interest-free loan in the arrDunt of $4,000 to the Seward Little League
Association for the purpose of purchasing equipment to operate a food
concession stand; and
WHEREAS, repayrrent of the loan was to have been nade in two
equal install1rents on July 15, 1985, and July 15, 1986; and
WHEREAS, on June 24, 1985, the Little League Association
requested and received a one-year extension on its first payrrent because
of financial hardship caused by the theft of inventory from the League's
food concession stand; and
WHEREAS, the Association is unable to operate its concession
stand until it has rerredied certain health code violations cited by the
Department of Environrrental Conservation; and
WHEREAS, it nav appears that the Little League Association
will be unable to begin repaynent of the loan in the foreseeable future;
and
WHEREAS, the Little League Association has requested that the
City convert its loan to a grant; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for this consideration, the Little League
Association has agreed to enter into an agreerrent with the City to
provide all routine maintenance on the Little League field;
NCM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward Little League Association is hereby
relieved of all obligation to repay the sum of $4,000 as stated in the
loan agreerrent dated July 2, 1984, executed by the City and the Little
League Association.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take
whatever administrative steps necessary to clear the Accounts Receivable
line item created by the appropriation and transfer of said loan funds
to the Little League Association.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized to enter
into a maintenance agreerrent with the Little League Association for the
upkeep of the Little League ballfield.

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect irnrediately upon
its adoption.
