CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE 99-17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE ZONING OF LOT 6A, BLOCK 17, FEDERAL
ADDmON, BLUM ADDmON FROM CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TO AUTO
COMMERCIAL
WHEREAS, the owner of Lot 6A, Block 17, Federal Addition, Blum Addition has requested
that the property be rezoned from Central Business District (CBD) to Auto Commercial (AC); and
WHEREAS, the request is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan in that the Land Use Plan
designates the property as Auto Commercial,
WHEREAS, the request is also consistent with the Strategic Plan which recommends
bringing the Zoning Map into conformance with the Land Use Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Auto Commercial district is intended to accommodate highway-oriented
commercial activities such as offices, certain institutional uses, limited personal services and retail
uses; and
WHEREAS, the property is surrounded by a mix of commercial, residential and institutional
uses; and
WHEREAS, at its November 3, 1999 meeting, the Planning & Zoning Commission held a
public hearing and recommended rezoning Lot 6A, Block 17, Federal Addition, Blum Addition to
Auto Commercial;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. The Official City of Seward Zoning Map is hereby amended by changing the
zoning designation of Lot 6A, Block 17, Federal Addition, Blum Addition from Central Business
District to Auto Commercial.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
13th day of December, 1999.
