RESOLUTION 2000-148
A RESOLUTION OFTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN EXTENSION OF
THE CONTRACT WITH CHUGACH ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION FOR THE
PURCHASE OF WHOLESALE ELECTRICAL ENERGY FOR THE CITY OF
SEWARD ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has an existing contract with Chugach Electrical
Association (CEA) for the purchase of electrical energy which was approved by the Regulatory
Commission of Alaska (RCA) and which will expire on September 11, 2001; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Seward and CEA have entered into negotiations and successfully
arrived at an agreement to extend the existing contract to January 31, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, this contract is subject to approval by the RCA after signing bythe.City of
Seward and CEA: .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ,
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: h'
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an amenfunent of the Power
Purchase Agreement with Chugach Electric Association to extend the existing contract UI'ltil January
31, 2006.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 11 th
day of December, 2000.
