CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2000-150
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE A VOLVO L-90D
LOADER, A CHAMPION 740A VHP-6 MOTOR GRADER, AND EQUIPMENT
TRAILER FROM CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY, INC. FOR A TOTAL PRICE
OF $373,044
and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has issued requests for proposals for various equipment;
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska is willing to allow the City of Seward to "Piggy-back" their
equipment needs for a loader, grader and equipment trailer, on to the State Bid; and
WHEREAS, Construction Machinery has a Volvo L-90D Loader available for immediate
purchase at a price of$174,500 which has been determined to be the lowest price for the equipment
available; and
WHEREAS, Construction Machinery has a Champion 740A VHP Motor Grader available
in February of2001 for a price of$183,544 which has been determined to be the lowest price for the
equipment available; and
WHEREAS, Construction Machinery has a 40,000 lb trailer with a 24 ft. deck and ramp-
style loading available for immediate purchase for a price of$15,000 which has been determined to
be the lowest price for the equipment available; and
WHEREAS, financing in the amount of$373,044 is available from the Electric Department
to be repaid when the Finance Department arranges permanent financing. ' '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUN,CILOF THE, CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: ' ,.
Section 1 The City Manager is authorized to purchase a Volvo L-90D, a Champion
740A VHP-6, and a Equipment Trailer for a total price of $373,044.
Section 2. Appropriating an additional $2,000 for annual debt service costs from the General
Fund Balance Account No. 101-0000-3050 to the General Fund Debt Service principal account
No. 101-1910-5810.

Section 3.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
