RESOLUTION NO. 95-047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF DECORATIVE STREET BANNERS AND MOUNTING BRACKETS
WHEREAS, the City and community representatives have coordinated the Seward
Enhancement Project to purchase decorative banners and mounting brackets in order to
enhance the 4th Avenue corridor, downtown and the harbor area; and
WHEREAS, funding for the project will be split equally between the City of
Seward and from private sector donations; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to install the banners during the 1995
summer season to maximize exposure and enhancement of the city; and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Business Association and the Enhancement Committee
have requested funding from the FY 1995 budget and a reduction of the FY 1996 budget
request for purchase of the decorative banners;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Funds totalling $8,250.00 are hereby appropriated from the General
Fund fund balance Account No. 101-0000-3050 to the General Services Account No. 101-
1180-5440 for the purchase of custom designed street banners and mounting brackets.
Section 2. The City will provide in-house labor services for a contribution totalling
$2,467.00, and the private sector will contribute $10,717.00 prior to the acquisition of
additional holiday banners and lighted fixtures.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of May, 1995.
