CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 95-073
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING A 3-YEAR CONTRACT
FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR OPERATION OF THE SEWARD
CORRECTIONAL CENTER AND ADJUSTING THE JAIL BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City has received a proposed 3-year contract from the State of
Alaska for the operation of the Seward Correctional Center; and
WHEREAS, the terms of the contract follow the guidelines established by the
Governor's Task Force for Community Jails; and
WHEREAS, the contract sets a constant funding level of $363,464.67 for each of
the three years of the contract; and
WHEREAS, although this is less than requested and anticipated by the City, it
does represent an increase over previous years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The 3-year contract between the State of Alaska and the City of Seward
for operation of the Seward Correctional Center Oail Contract) is hereby approved.
Section 2. The FY 1996 Jail Budget is hereby amended by decreasing State Jail
Revenues, Account No. 101-0000-4350-0170 in the amount of $27,745 and increasing the
Jail Training Account No. 101-1211-5160 in the amount of $2,000.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect July 1, 1995.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
26th day of June, 1995.
