RESOLUTION NO. 86=48
A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, AlASKA, REl;2UESTING THAT SEWARD BE DESIGNATED
ALASKA'S FOURI'H OF JULY CITY FOR 1986
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has twice been narred an All
American City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward annually hosts the State's largest
Fourth of July celebration; and
WHEREAS, Seward is also the hare of the annual Fourth of July
r-bunt Marathon Race; and
WHEREAS, visitors from across the State participate in the
nany festivities offered by the City of Seward each Independence Day;
NO^1, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Honorable Governor Bill Sheffield is hereby
requested to proclaim the City of Seward to be the State of Alaska 's
Fourth of July City for 1986.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect i.rnnediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 9th day of June , 19 86 .
