RFSOUJrION NO. 86-52
A RESOllJTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING CONTINUED PARrICIPATION IN
THE RAILBELT ELECrRICAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the future developIrent of Railbelt electrical power
lS of vital concern to the City of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the mayors and utility managers of Railbelt commu-
nities support the establishment of a railbelt advisory group including
one rrember frcrn each of the railbelt utilities; and
WHEREAS, the finding and recorrrrendation of a joint study on
the feasibility of forming a Railbelt Generation and Transmission
Utility may significantly affect the cost and availability of electrical
power purchased by the City of Seward;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward shall continue to participate as
a rrember of an advisory group for developIrent of Railbelt power.
Section 2. The City of Seward approves participation in a
joint feasibility study on fonning a Railbelt Generation and Trans-
mission Utility.
Section 3. The City Manager shall subrni t for approval of
Council the cost of Seward I s participation in the feasibility study
prior to paying such cost.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect irrarediately upon
its adoption.
