RESOLUTION NO. 95-076
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, URGING THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS
TO CONTINUE THE RECONNAISSANCE STUDY OF THE EASTWARD
EXPANSION OF THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers' reconnaissance study of the eastward
expansion of the Small Boat Harbor is due to terminate on June 30, 1995, unless
specifically extended by the federal govemmentj and
WHEREAS, this project is currently rated as priority number three for the Alaska
District and has a good chance of being included in the FY 1997 federal budget; and
WHEREAS, termination of the study will effectively void the two years of effort
already put into the project; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to continue with the reconnaissance study;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The U.S. Corps of Engineers is urged to continue the reconnaissance
study of the eastward expansion of the Seward Small Boat Harbor for an additional
eighteen months or until completion.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
26th day of June, 1995.
