RESOLUTION NO. 95-086
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO COVER
THE COST OF THE FY 1994 AUDIT ADJUSTMENT TO THE
AMIlJIA LAW ENFORCEMENT LIABILITY POOL
WHEREAS, the City of Seward is a member of the Alaska Municipal League Joint
Insurance Association's Law Enforcement Liability Pool (LELP); and
WHEREAS, each year, the LELP performs an audit on the past year's loss history
and either bills or credits each participating municipality's account based on its losses for
that year; and
WHEREAS, over the past several years prior to FY 1994, the City of Seward had
a positive experience resulting in a net credit of $44,711; and
WHEREAS, past credits have been set aside in the designated General Fund fund
balance account as a hedge against potential future losses; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a billing of $5,800 to cover excess losses during
FY 1994; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to fund this billing from the LELP designated fund
balance account;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $5,800 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund fund
balance designated for AMl/JIA and LELP, account no. 101-0000-3040-0000, the sum of
$4,350 is appropriated to the Police Department line item, account no. 101-1210-5370, and
the sum of $1,450 is appropriated to the Jail insurance line item, account no. 101-1211-
5370.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
24th day of July, 1995.
