CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 86-94
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM
COUNCIL CONTINGENCY AND APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL FUND
FUND BALANCE FOR UPGRADING CITY'S PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
WHEREAS, the City has for the last four years actively
pursued promoting itself as a port for Alaska and a place
for businesses to locate through the use of brochures, trade
show exhibits and information slide show presentations; and
WHEREAS, of the original run of 5,000 brochures, only
400 remain and those have become outdated because of rapid
changes in community development; and
WHEREAS, the City's display, used for over
presentations, is showing signs of extreme fatigue
transit and heavy uses; and
thirty

WHEREAS, the slide show,
development, no longer presents
community as a whole; and
geared more to port
a good depiction of the
WHEREAS, the City continues to be in demand to provide
brochures, presentations and information at trade shows,
conferences, and for visiting businesses and dignitary
briefings; and
WHEREAS, a new, generic and versatile display can be
developed along with a new brochure and slide show up-date
for about $16,500.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A transfer of $3,500 is authorized from the
Council Contingency account to Community Development account
101 115 516 10 73.
Section 2. A transfer of $13,000 is authorized from
the General Fund Fund Balance to Community Development
account 101 l15 516 10 73.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediate-
ly upon its adoption.
