CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 86-95
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM
THE GENERAL FUND FUND BALANCE TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BUDGET FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENT
OF AN APPLICATION PACKET FOR AN AREA WIDE CUSTOMS
PORT OF ENTRY STATUS FOR THE KENAI PENINSULA
WHEREAS, on July 28, 1986, the Seward City Council
approved entering into a professional services agreement
with Vern Gronewald dba Import Consulting Services for the
development of an Area Wide Customs Port of Entry applica-
tion packet for the Kenai Peninsula; and
WHEREAS, the agreement was for $5,000 upon completion
of the application; up to $5,000 for reimbursable expenses
and a $2,500 bonus should the application be accepted and
the Port of Entry status granted; and
WHEREAS, there were not funds in the Community Develop-
ment budget to cover these expenses; and
WHEREAS, during the course of developing support from
other communities, the City of Homer agreed that should the
Kenai Peninsula receive Customs Port of Entry status, it
would pay the $2,500 bonus; and
WHEREAS, the application packet has been completed and
submitted to the proper agency and the City has been billed
for $5,000 as per the basic agreement and approximately $300
for reimbursable travel expenses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
