CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 86-98
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF POWER POLES
TO RESTOCK THE ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT INVENTORY WITHOUT FULL
UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the Electric Department has solicited price
quotes from three power pole distributors; and
WHEREAS, a busy construction season has depleted
stocked inventory; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that these depleted supplies
be replaced as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, strict adherence to the bid procedures set
forth in Section 10-8 of the City Code would result in an
unnecessary delay in obtaining the needed supplies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would best be served by
waiving the bid requirements set forth in Section 10-8 of
the City Code for the purchase of electric distribution
construction materials to restock City inventories.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
issue a purchase order to McFarland Cascade in the amount of
$15,968.00 for the purchase of Douglas Fir full treated
power poles.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, this 10th day of November , 19~.
