CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 86-99
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A PROJECT AGREEMENT AND AN
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE
U.S. SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
WHEREAS, the U. S. Soi 1 Conservation Service
authorized under federal statutes to construct
flood control dikes on Spruce Creek and Jap Creek;
has been
emergency
and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Soil Conservation Service will fund
100% of the cost of construction of the dikes; and
WHEREAS, these dikes will protect vital and essential
City owned facilities such as the waste water treatment
plant, sewer main, electric power lines, roads, electric
power plant, water well field, schools and residential
areas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward agrees to be responsible
for maintenance and operation of the dikes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to sign a
Project Agreement and Operation and Maintenance Agreement
wi th the U. S. Soil Conservation Service for the dikes on
Spruce Creek and Jap Creek.
Section 2. This resolution
immediately upon its adoption.

effect
