CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 86-105
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO METCO, INC.,
TO REPAIR THE UPPER JAP CREEK DIKE
WHEREAS, METCO, Inc., competitively bid and was awarded
the contract with the U.S. Soil Conservation Service (SCS)
to construct a lower dike along Jap Creek; and
WHEREAS, the upper dike along Jap Creek was washed away
during the October 1986 flood disaster and will need to be
repaired before the spring water run-off;
WHEREAS, METCO, Inc., has agreed to accomplish the
upper dike repair under the same terms of the SCS contract
and proceed in conjunction with that contract;
WHEREAS, strict
outlined in Section

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would best be served by
waiving the bid requirements outlined in Section 10-8 of the
Ci ty Code for the award of a contract to METCO, Inc., for
repair work on the upper dike along Jap Creek.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with METCO, Inc., to proceed with repair
work on the upper Jap Creek dike.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
