Sponsored by: Gieseler CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 87-020 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, OPPOSING THE EXTENSION OF MANDATORY MEDICARE PAYMENTS TO ALL STATE AND LOCAL EMPLOYEES vlHEREAS, President Reagan has proposed, as a federal revenue raising measure at the expense of state and local governments, to extend mandatory Medicare payments to all state and local employees; and WHEREAS, it is estimated proved, would cost the state Million annually; and measure, if ap- an estimated $7 that this of Alaska WHEREAS, the potential cost to the city of Seward is estimated to be $30,024. annually; and WHEREAS, local governments have already suffered from loss of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds; and WHEREAS, imposition of this measure would place an undue burden on local governments in Alaska; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1.
