CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 10,000 GALLON
WASTE OIL TANK FOR THE HARBOR DEPARTMENT WITHOUT FULL
UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the Harbor Department is in critical need of
additional waste oil collection containers; and
WHEREAS, the Department has solicited price quotations
for a 10,000 gallon, skid-mounted, tank from five companies;
and
WHEREAS, the waste oil being generated is exceeding the
present storage capabilities and strict adherence to City
bid procedures outlined in Section 10-8 of the City code
would be time consuming;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would best be served by
waiving bid procedures for the purchase of a 10,000 gallon
waste oil tank for the Harbor Department.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
issue a purchase order to Anchorage Tank and Welding for the
purchase of a 10,000 gallon waste oil tank in an amount not
to exceed $6,400.00.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
