CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-065
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF THE KENAI
BOROUGH TO PURSUE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BOROUGH-
WIDE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the city of Seward is a long time, staunch
believer in innovative methods of accomplishing overall
economic development within the city and the borough; and
WHEREAS, the Resource Development Commission of the
Kenai Peninsula Borough has been tasked with an action-
oriented program for assisting in economic development
within the borough and is seeking support for the establish-
ment of an Economic Development District; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Trade and Commerce Advi sory Board
has been briefed on the concept of an Economic Development
District and the benefits that might be derived from such an
organization; and
WHEREAS, the Trade Board has recommended that the City
Council support the establishment of a boroughwide Economic
Development District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city of Seward supports the Kenai
peninsula Borough's Resource Development Commission in its
efforts to establish a boroughwide Economic Development
District.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
