CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-082
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH R & M CONSULTANTS TO PROVIDE AN
AS-BUILT SURVEY OF PORTIONS OF THE 115 KV
TRANSMISSION LINE
WHEREAS, the state of Alaska has required a detailed
as-built survey of those portions of the 115 KV transmission
line which cross state lands; and
WHEREAS, R & M Consultants provided the initial survey
for the transmission line and already has aerial photographs
and survey data on file; and
WHEREAS, R & M Consultants initially agreed to provide
the surveys for under $10,000, and the city entered into a
professional services agreement with the firm to provide the
state-requested surveys; and
WHEREAS, since that time, the State Department of
Natural Resources has increased the as-built requirements to
include US Forest Service land which is being transferred to
the state; and
WHEREAS, this added requirement will entail thorough
researching of all of the land surrounding the transmission
lines; and
WHEREAS, based on the revised scope of work, R & M
Consultants has revised its estimate for the project to a
not to exceed figure of $25,500; and
WHEREAS,

WHEREAS, these funds can be applied toward the cost of
the survey work, with the balance coming from the Electric
Department Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a Professional Services Agreement with R & M
Consultants to provide state-required transmission line
surveys for a total cost not to exceed $25,500.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
