CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-083
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT
FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE COMPUTER ANALYZER AND WAIVING
CERTAIN CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals was properly posted and
advertised in local and Anchorage newspapers for a diagnos-
tic automotive computer analyzer for the City Shop; and
WHEREAS, there was no response to the RFP prior to the
scheduled bid closing date; and
WHEREAS, Bear Automotive-Northwest, Inc.,

WHEREAS, there is no reason to expect
proposals if the RFP is readvertised; and

WHEREAS, Section 10-8 of the Seward City Code states
that the provisions of this section of the Code shall not
apply where the City Council determines and makes written
finding that the public interest would be best served by not
requiring competitive bidding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would best be served by
waiving the competitive bidding requirements of Section 10-8
of the Seward City Code for the purchase of a diagnostic
automotive computer analyzer for the City Shop.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized to
issue a purchase order in an amount not to exceed $8,420.18
to Bear Automotive-Northwest, Inc., for the purchase of a
diagnostic automotive computer analyzer.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
