RESOLUTION NO. 87-097
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO GENERAL
TELEPHONE COMPANY OF ALASKA TO EXTEND TELEPHONE
SERVICE TO THE SHIP TRANSFER FACILITY
WHEREAS, it is necessary to extend telephone service to
meet the communications requirements of future tenants of
the Seward Marine Industrial Center (SMIC); and
WHEREAS, General Telephone Company of Alaska (GTA) is
certified by the Alaska Public Utilities Commission to serve
the SMIC area; and
WHEREAS, GTA has the capability to install telephone
service the the Ship Transfer Facility; and
WHEREAS, GTA has proposed to do the construction for
actual cost of construction, not to exceed a total cost of
$19,660; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The award of a contract for the extension
of telephone service is exempted from the competitive
bidding requirements in accordance with City Code Section
10-8 (e) (6).
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract with GTA for the extension of tele-
phone service to the Ship Transfer Facility located at the
SMIC for a total contract amount not to exceed $19,660.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
