CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-110
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR SNOW
REMOVAL AND SANDING
WHEREAS, the city may require contract snow removal
services to handle the increased road mileage at the Seward
Marine Industrial Center (SMIC); and
WHEREAS, the number of local contractors with equipment
capable of performing highway snow removal and sanding is
limited; and
WHEREAS, all known contractors having this capability
received copies of the bid package and were represented at a
pre-bid conference; and
WHEREAS, due to the urgency of having this
awarded prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, it
possible to post this request for proposals for a
weeks;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council determines that the public
interest would best be served by waiving the requirement for
a two-week advertising period for a request for proposals
for snow removal and sanding services.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby
execute contracts for winter snow removal
services with Metco, Inc. and Afognak Logging.

ately upon its adoption.
