CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-111
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TRANSFERRING
EQUIPMENT, OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL OF TELEVISION
TRANSMISSION STATION K09DL
WHEREAS, the city of Seward owns and operates a tele-
vision translator station located on Mt. Wolcott; and
WHEREAS, the location of the Mt. Wolcott station
requires the expenditure of significant funds and exposure
of personnel and equipment to extreme risk in order to
maintain the station's operation; and
WHEREAS, Denali Broadcasting has offered to acquire and
operate the Mt. Wolcott television translator station; and
WHEREAS, the City

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Agreement transferring equipment,
ownership and control of television translator station K09DL
from the city of Seward to Denali Broadcasting in the form
of that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incor-
porated herein by reference is in the public interest.
Section 2. It is in the public interest not to follow
the full procedures of Section 10-8 of the Seward City Code
in that the parties to the Agreement have negotiated and
agreed that the city be removed from the obligation and
attendant liability of television station K09DL while
guaranteeing the continued delivery of the television signal
to the residents of Seward.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute the Transfer Agreement and such other and further
documents as may be necessary to effect the transfer of
television translator station K09DL.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
