CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $7,000 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND-FUND BALANCE TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLETING A DOWNTOWN
SEWARD STRATEGIC ENHANCEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, tourism is an important industry wi thin the
community of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the enhancement and marketability
Seward downtown commercial district is vital to the
well being of the citizens of the community; and
of the
economic
WHEREAS, a very vibrant local group of business people
have formed a committee to seek ways of revitalizing the
Seward downtown commercial district and show a willingness
to pursue active planning and implementation to enhance the
commercial areas of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Comprehensive Plan addresses such a
need; and
WHEREAS, the firm of Hyett-Palma, Inc., recognized
nationally as experts in the field of retail business
recrui tment and enhancement, have visited Seward at the
city's request and are interested in assisting the community
in the development of a strategic enhancement plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $7,000 is hereby appropriated
from the General Fund-Fund Balance Account No. 101-000-271-
00-00 to the Community Development Account No. 101-115-516-
10-39 for the purpose of hiring the firm of Hyett-Palma,
Inc., to facilitate the development of a strategic downtown
commercial enhancement plan.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.

SEWARD, ALASKA, this 23 day of November , 19~.
