RESOLUTION NO. 87-115
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT TO ESTABLISH A PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING POSITION
WHEREAS, there exists a lack of depth at the profes-
sional level in the Finance Department; and
WHEREAS, there exists in
professional level employee to
complex and technical work load;
that Department only one
handle all of the highly
and
WHEREAS, the Finance Department is responsible for all
of the traditional finance functions in addition to many of
the administrative functions of the city including person-
nel, risk management, insurance and purchasing; and
WHEREAS, the addition of another professional account-
ing position in the Finance Department will lend the addi-
tional support needed to properly administer the city's
needs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized to
appropriate the sum of $22,000 from the General Fund Fund
Balance to the Finance Department Fiscal Year 1988 budget
for the purpose of funding an additional professional level
position in that department.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
