RESOLUTION NO. 88-001
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, IN RECOGNITION OF THE
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS OF RONALD A. GARZINI
TO THE CITY OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, Ronald A. Garzini served as city manager of
the city of Seward, Alaska from August 1982 through December
1987; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the city, Ron Garzini
proved himself to be an innovative and dedicated leader; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Garzini was responsible for overseeing the
completion of the city's Marine Industrial Center and was
instrumental in the city's lobbying efforts to obtain funds
for its completion; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Garzini was the creative force behind the
city's innovative financing package which resulted in the
state of Alaska locating its first maximum security prison
in the city of Seward; and
WHEREAS, completion of the Marine Industrial Center and
the opening of the prison in May of this year will create
many new jobs for residents of the community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Garzini was also attentive to quality of
life issues and was responsible for expansion of the city's
Parks and Recreation Department, development of the Small
Boat Harbor Boardwalk, and securing funding for a new
Senior/Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the community of Seward benefited economically
and aesthetically because of Garzini's efforts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

RESOLUTION NO. 88-001
Seward, Alaska, and shall enjoy all of the rights and
privileges accorded to other citizens of the city of Seward.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
