Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 88-012 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, DESIGNATING THE VAN GILDER HOTEL AS HAVING A SPECIAL HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE WHEREAS, the Van Gilder Hotel was constructed in 1916; and WHEREAS, it is the oldest surviving hotel in the city of Seward; and WHEREAS, the Historic Register 1980; Van Gilder Hotel was placed on the State and the National Historic Register in NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The Van Gilder Hotel is hereby designated to have played a significant role in the history of the city of Seward. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi- ately upon its adoption.
