CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $31,900 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND FUND BALANCE TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FUND FOR
REPLACEMENT OF THE SEWARD FIRE HALL ROOF
WHEREAS, the roof on the Seward Fire Hall building is
leaking and has caused considerable damage to the interior
walls and insulation; and
WHEREAS, the existing roof has been repaired in the
past and is no longer repairable; and
WHEREAS, the estimated total cost of a new roof with a
ten year warranty installed by a reputable roofing company
and other miscellaneous repairs are estimated to cost
$31,900; and
WHEREAS, the fire department personnel have agreed to
provide for labor for interior repairs; and
WHEREAS, due to the urgency of accomplishing the roof
replacement as early as possible before additional water
damage occurs inside the building; and
WHEREAS, there are no funds included in the fire
department budget for roof repair or replacement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
