CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, NOMINATING CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND FOR
SELECTION PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL LAND ENTITLEMENT ACT
WHEREAS, the city has passed Resolutions 78-41, 79-18,
79-37, 79-38, and 87-001 regarding the nomination,
selection, modification and relinquishment of lands under
the city's initial entitlement of 562 acres; and
WHEREAS, as of this date, the city has received patent
to 515.397 acres, leaving a remaining entitlement of 46.603
acres; and
WHEREAS, the city has reviewed and identified the
following state lands wi thin the corporate limits of the
city as desirable for nominations as city selections:
1. As per DNR Status Plat Sheet 1, Township IS,
Range 1W, Seward Meridian - Tract "B" GS-1108 Mun Nom 201288
(:!: 16 acres). Also called Alaska Railroad right of way
Parcel 7.
2. As per DNR Status Plat Sheet 1, Township IS,
Range 1W, Seward Meridian - Other State Lands 161 North 200
feet of the east half of Block 9 Federal Addition USS 1116
(:!: .51 acre).

40 acres); and
WHEREAS, the city understands that parcel 2 above is
not General Selection land, but may be applied for under
Public and Charitable Uses and charged against its municipal
entitlement; and
WHEREAS, parcel 3 above is important for gravel
resources and flood control, but state classification as
Watershed precludes selection of this land and the city
requests that said classification be removed in order that
it might select these lands.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

Section 2. The State of Alaska Department of Natural
