CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-030
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, DESIGNATING WINTER CAMPGROUND AREAS
AND SETTING FEES
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 601 closed the city's public
campgrounds between October 1 and May 14, annually; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 601 permits the city council, by
resolution, to designate certain city campgrounds for winter
camping and to set reasonable regulations for the management
thereof; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of promoting and encouraging
winter tourism, the city council desires to open certain
areas of the city's public use campgrounds for winter
camping;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The area along Railway Avenue between Sixth
and Seventh Avenues, more fully described by the map which
is attached hereto and incorporated by reference as Attach-
ment "A", is hereby designated a winter camping area.
Section 2. A winter camping fee of $2.00 per night,
plus tax, is hereby established.
Section 3. The city manager is hereby authorized to
develop and implement appropriate regulations to permit
effective management of winter camping.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect March 24,
1988.
