CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-033
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR REPAIR OF
WATER WELL NO. 1 WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF
CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, city of Seward Water Well No. 1 has failed;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the probable cause
of the failure is the failure of the pump motor; and
WHEREAS, M & W Drilling Company of Anchorage and
Kraxberger Well Drilling Company of Soldotna have offered
telephone proposals to pull the well and replace the pump;
and
WHEREAS, Kraxberger Well Drilling Company has offered
the lowest price; and
WHEREAS, immediate repair of the well is necessary to
assure that public health and safety interests are met;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive
public bid requirements for the repair of Water Well No. 1
since immediate repair of the well is necessary to meet
public health and safety needs of the city.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby
enter into an agreement with Kraxberger
Company to repair Water Well No.1.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
