CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-037
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, IN SUPPORT OF THE RESURRECTION
RIVER TRAIL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Resurrection River Trail provides an
important recreation opportunity to the people of Seward and
to recreationists visiting the Seward area; and
WHEREAS, the Boulder Creek Bridge located on this trail
has suffered damage from flooding in 1986 and 1987, making
it unsafe to cross; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Forest Service has deemed it prudent
and necessary to move the bridge to a new location approxi-
mately one mile upstream on Boulder Creek; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Forest Service has limited funds to
accomplish the relocation of the bridge and construction of
a new trail to the new location and is seeking assistance
from the military to move the bridge and construct the new
trail;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city of Seward supports the Resur-
rection River Trail project.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
