Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 88-045 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, RECOGNIZING CITY EMPLOYEES FOR THEIR EXTRAORDINARY EFFORTS DURING APRIL SNOWSTORMS WHEREAS, the city has experienced abnormally high snow falls throughout the winter of 1987-88; and WHEREAS, during the period of April 10-17, 1988, the ci ty of Seward was buffeted by extreme weather conditions consisting of heavy winds, snow, rain and sleet which resulted in as much as eighteen inches of new snow within the city and thirty inches in outlying areas; and WHEREAS, the city's public works, water and sewer, and electric crews have worked long hours under the worst possible working conditions, sometimes at personal risk, to maintain and restore public services; and WHEREAS, as a result of this outstanding effort by those dedicated personnel, city services were maintained with the least possible service outages to the residents of the city and the electric service areas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. Special recognition and expressions of appreciation are hereby extended to each individual member of the city Public Works, Water and Sewer, and Electric crews for their extraordinary efforts during recent winter storms. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi- ately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this 25 day of April , 19 88 .
