CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-090
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING CITY PARTICIPATION
IN THE FISH TAX CREDIT PROGRAM ON BEHALF OF
SEWARD MARINE SERVICES
WHEREAS, AS 43.75.032 provides that fish processors may
receive a credit against their fish tax obligation for up to
three consecutive years for any approved capital improve-
ments made to their shore-based facilities; and
WHEREAS, Seward Marine Services has filed an applica-
tion with the state for a tax credit under this program; and
WHEREAS, Seward Marine Services has requested city
participation in the program; and
WHEREAS, the maximum financial exposure of the city
over the three year period totals $35,368, but would
probably amount to much less than that figure; and
WHEREAS, the tax credit received by Seward Marine
Services will fund various capital improvements to its
Seward facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to participate
in the state fish tax credit program on behalf of Seward
Marine Services, and the city manager is authorized and
instructed to execute such documents as may be required to
effect such city participation.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
