CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-091
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE ORDER FOR
PRISON ROOF MODIFICATIONS NECESSITATED BY THE
INSTALLATION OF NEW WATER HEATERS WITHOUT FULL
UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the installation of
Spring Creek Correctional Center
modifications to certain roofs to
from the water heaters; and
new water heaters at
necessitated certain

WHEREAS, Rain Proof Roofing Company was the original
subcontractor and supplied the warranties for the roofs in
question; and
WHEREAS, alteration of the roofs by another contractor
could affect the warranties on the roofs; and
WHEREAS, the necessary modifications were accomplished
under an emergency work order in order to expedite the work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive
formal bid procedures for the award of a purchase order to
modify certain roofs at the Spring Creek Correctional Center
to accommodate stacks for the new water heaters.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized to
issue a purchase order to Rain Proof Roofing Company in an
amount not to exceed $8,961.04 for modification of the roofs
as noted above.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
